Fabio Pedroso de Lima holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineer with emphasis in Automotive from FEI Engineering University in Sao Paulo – Brazil and MSc in Automotive Product Engineering from Cranfield University UK. He has gained 12 years of experience in CAE, working for General Motors in Brazil and Ford Motors in the UK. Currently, in Ford he is an Engine and PT NVH CAE engineer who has global responsibility in optimization process and methodologies for engine and powertrain systems.

This presentation illustrates how modeFRONTIER combined with different CAE software helps Ford in the development of new products. A multi-objective optimization is a powerful tool in which create a dataset driven decision in order to get the best compromise between NVH performance and weight reduction. The presentation will provide examples on In-line three-cylinder engine imbalance, engine radiated noise due to combustion and bracket mass reduction.
